In October 2016, UCT participated in the 19th International Thermal Spraying Seminar (ITSS '2016) & the 20th China National Thermal Spraying Conference (CNTSC' 2016) held in Changsha, Hunan province, and presented the achievements of high frequency detonation spray system developed jointly with Ukrainian institute.
The characteristics of UCT’s high frequency detonation spray system including:
? Can spray a wide variety of materials including tungsten carbide, oxide ceramics, metals, alloys, composite powders and MCrAlY alloys.
? Its performances excel the plasma and HVOF spraying in an all-around way since the strong impact force generated by the explosion makes the flying speed of powder particles to reach 1500m/s, which results in the coating’s bonding strength of up to 100-500MPa, the porosity of less than 0.15% and the hardness (in case of spraying WC-10Co-4Cr) of HV1380.
? Avoid the coatings falling off since its much less thermal effect in the coating compare with APS and HVOF, as a result the tensile stress inside the coating lessened.
? Explosion frequency up to 10-50Hz enables its production efficiency to greatly exceed that of the traditional detonation spraying equipment.
? it generates the intermetallic compounds at the coating’s interface due to the strong impact of the sprayed particles onto the substrate, which further improve the performance of the coating.
